Manifest, a non-profit men’s wellness community, empowers men to pursue their wellness visions & passions together in more than 50 events monthly (listed below). MONDAYS
CORE YOGA: increase strength & flexibility at your core; Mondays weekly, 6:15-7:30 pm, Instructor Charles Airey, Kripalu teacher for more than 20 years. Manifest NE Studio
MORNING YOGA & MEDITATION: learn to establish a daily practice to increase energy & focus, decrease depression & pain, & feel better; Mon-Fri, 6:30-7:00 am Breath & Meditation 7-8:30 am Yoga (asana), Instructor Bart Church, has studied yoga for 25 years & been an Raja & Iyengar-trained Yoga teacher for more than 16 years. CREATE A NEW LIFE STORY: Discover parts of your life story that inspire or block you. Learn to powerfully alter that narrative and shift the course of your life through creative storytelling, breathing & visualization exercises, making sacred art, creating personal ritual, creating a new authentic, inspiring life story, & translating it into your resume, elevator speech, & other practical communication. Mondays, 7:45-9:15 pm. Facilitator Christophe Leroy was trained as a Shamanic Energy Healer by Alberto Villoldo of the Four Winds Society, and was given permission to adapt traditional Andean Shamanic practices to modern challenges & abilities. He believes basic shamanic practices are similar across many cultures and times because they come from our collective unconscious and because they have always worked. TUESDAYS
COMMUNITY VISIONING CIRCLE & POTLUCK: each month a wellness professional presents on an important, practical technique or information related to men’s wellness; then as a way of learning from one another and the wisdom of the group, everyone is invited to share their experience & visions related to that topic; this is an intergenerational FREE event for men of diverse backgrounds; 1st Tuesday, 5-7 pm Potluck, 7-9 pm Visioning Circle. HEALING TOUCH EXCHANGE: learn presence, communication, and to give & receive great healing touch, plus practical interactive demonstrations of a variety of techniques, including sports massage, Swedish, cranio-sacral, deep tissue, etc.; 3rd Tuesday, 7-10 pm, facilitated by Mark E. Jones, Licensed Massage Therapist LMT#14784, with demonstrations by a different LMT each month. Manifest NE Studio
MEN’S MEDITATION GROUP; 2nd & 4th Tuesdays, 7:00-9:00 pm – Great for stress relief and increasing your ability to be calm and focused; simple, silent seated & walking meditation, short inspirational reading, discussion, tea, and cookies. WEDNESDAYS
CENTERING PRAYER GROUP: learn this simple, powerful Christian-derived meditation & prayer technique that helps you stay connected to your source; Wednesdays weekly, 3:30-4:30 pm; Co-Facilitated by Palmer Pardington, M.Div, Michael Zula, & Kelly Laslie. Meet at house near Reed College.

THURSDAYS
YOGA BASICS: learn fundamentals of Hatha & Vinyasa yoga (stretches, breath practices, & practical principles) so you can reduce stress & tension, increase energy & focus, and return to the vibrant flow of you life. Thursdays weekly, 6:15-7:30 pm. Instructor Bryan Rollins has been teaching adults & children yoga fundamentals for two years & seeks to create an intergenerational class. Manifest Studio.
FINDING YOUR POWER: Men, Work & Love. Men powerfully support one another in: 1) getting clarity about your visions for work & love, 2) learning to use the energy of fear, distractions, negativity, & procrastination for, 3) taking & sustaining potent action to make your visions real. Thursdays, 7-9 pm. Facilitated by Angel True, who was trained as a Solution-Focused Coach by Erickson College, and who has over 25 years experience in professional training & communication. SEX, INTIMACY & SPIRIT GROUP: Men from diverse backgrounds and orientations explore our authentic sexuality: our fears, our desires, our questions, and our true expressions; we help one another liberate & integrate our Sexuality & Spirituality; Ongoing Group: 7 Thursdays weekly, 7-9 pm (starts 1/28); 1st & 4th Sessions Facilitated by Rev. David Franklin, a Certified Sexological Bodyworker (trained at the Institute for the Advanced Study of Human Sexuality in San Francisco); other sessions facilitated by John Galloway, a Certified Breema Instructor and long-time facilitator of personal transformation groups. SATURDAYS
FLOW YOGA: learn simple, easy stretch sequences designed to help you lose weight, improve mood, and increase energy; Saturdays weekly, 9:25-10:25 am; Taught by Charles Airey, who has studied Kripalu Yoga for more than 20 years. Manifest NE Studio.
WALKING GROUP: get easy, fun exercise, meet new friends, enjoy Portland’s beautiful neighborhoods & parks, & learn about history, architecture, & urban plants/trees; Saturdays weekly, 10:30-11:45 am. Co-facilitators: Trevor Robertson, born & raised in Portland & lover of neighborhood history, architecture, & plants/trees; Bart Church. Various locations.
WANDERLUST CYCLING GROUP: have fun exploring Portland by bike followed by optional dinner & hot tub; Saturdays weekly, 10:30 am-12:00 pm, Co-Facilitators: David Zundel, a long-time urban cyclist & Steve Strode, Portland Front Runners President. Meet at Holladay Park Fountain, near Lloyd Center Max (NE Multnomah & 11th Ave).
CREATIVE MOVEMENT CLASS: Have fun accessing the roots of your creativity through movement that expresses your authentic impulses & desire to play. Saturdays weekly, 4:00-5:30 pm (starts 1/16). Instructor Keyon Gaskins is a long-time dancer, choregrapher, & movement educator.
SUNDAYS
ECO-HIKES: explore beautiful, diverse eco-systems within 60-80 miles of Portland in these relatively easy hikes; these hikes are more about taking our time to really connect with nature & other men who love nature. 2nd Sundays monthly (in winter), 10am-2pm. Facilitated by David Barfield, a long-time hike leader in the Northwest. Various locations.
AYURVEDIC COOKING & EATING WELL CLASS: Ayurveda is one of the oldest & most effective healing systems in the world. In this course you’ll learn, from an experienced Ayurvedic Teacher and Practitioner: 1) what foods to eat & avoid to dramatically improve your energy & immune system; 2) what foods to eat & avoid to improve chronic conditions (such as being overweight, heartburn/ulcers, diabetes, allergies, etc); 3) how to cook simple, healthy, delicious dishes tailored to your goals & tastes. 4 Sundays weekly (1/10-1/31), 1:30-3:30 pm. INSTRUCTOR: Dhyana Haber is a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist from the California College of Ayurveda, and a yoga instructor, who holds a diploma in Yoga Therapy and Naturopathy from the Sukadeva Ananda College in India.
MEN’S SALON: Thoughtful speakers give a brief, engaging presentation on a different interesting question each month, and then the group answers that question through collective inquiry & discussion; anyone may speak from his own experience & values; the goal is for the group to have fun learning from its collaborative inquiry & to develop intergenerational friendships & community. 4th Sunday monthly, 2:30-4:30 pm. Private home.
SPECIAL EVENTS
HEALING MANDALA WORKSHOP: Using meditation & sacred art techniques, learn to heal your life and discover your dreams through the ancient art of creating mandalas. ). Saturday, 1/9/10, 2:00-4:30 pm. Taught by Vincent Ferguson, an artists & long-time mandala art teacher. Manifest NE Studio.

HYPNOTHERAPY TO FULFILL NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS: Many have become disillusioned by New Year’s Resolutions because they are so quickly overwhelmed by old habits or procrastination. Hypnotherapy has been used successfully for decades to help people address unconscious resistance and tap into subconscious power. In hypnosis you can powerfully speak with all the parts of your mind that need to cooperate to make resolutions real. Sunday, 1/10/10, 4:00-5:30 pm. FACILITATOR: Gary Meyer became a Certified Hypnotherapist in 1999, and has helped clients successfully for 10 years with Smoking Cessation/Addictions, Weight Loss, Anxiety & Phobias, Study Skills/Memory, and Sports Performance.
