Brian L. Taylor

Brian L. Taylor, 53, is a gay, African American HIV+ man who has lived in Portland for 25 years. He is an RN and has worked for Multnomah County Health Department since 1985. He was one of the first RNs to do HIV counseling and testing in the Portland area in 1987. Since 1990 he has worked in the Multnomah County HIV Health Services Center, a Ryan White Care Act funded clinic, as a staff nurse and Lead nurse. He brings to the board his knowledge of HIV, the history of the epidemic and how it has impacted the gay community in Portland over the last 25 years. Brian serves as Manifest’s Ombudsman, coordinating program evaluation, complaints, and effective response to feedback. He also helps coordinate Manifest’s Health Provider Network.
